Even 14 days after the Uttarkashi tunnel accident, not a single worker could be evacuated, drilling stopped again, auger machine broken

Efforts are being made for a long time to save 41 laborers trapped in the tunnel accident under construction on Yamunotri National Highway in Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand. It has been 14 days since this effort but still the operation to take the workers out of the tunnel has not been completed. Saturday i.e. 25th November is the 14th day of the operation. According to reports, the final drilling work for the rescue operation of workers from the tunnel has once again had to be stopped due to obstruction.

According to reports, on the night of Friday 24 November, drilling work in the tunnel had to be stopped at 47 meters. Pipes are being drilled in the tunnel. About ten meters more drilling is left.

Today, on Saturday, once again the work of cutting the iron mesh coming in the way of the pipe was to begin. But the auger machine with which the drilling is being done has broken down, hence the time limit for when the rescue operation will end is not yet decided.

Tunnel expert Arnold Dix said that the auger machine with which ‘drilling’ was being done to save 41 laborers trapped in the tunnel in Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand has broken down. Let us tell you that today is the 14th day of the rescue operation. And it is expected that soon all these laborers will be taken out of the tunnel.
