Sri Lanka Cricket suspended by ICC due to government interference

ICC suspends Sri Lanka from International cricket due to Government interference in cricket. The ICC Board met today and finds that Sri Lanka Cricket is breaching its member obligations, as an autonomous body and the administration is not free from government intervention.

The team is barred from taking part in any even hosted by ICC, till its further review. The performance of the team in ongoing ICC World Cup is disappointing for the fans and the cricket fans. A world cup winner and a known cricket team for their good performances Sri Lanka cricket is in trouble at the moment. Recently the Sri Lanka team was in news for their aggression against Bangladesh team, where in they refused to shake hands after the match with the Bangladesh players. The first ever timed out was also seen in the match and Sri Lanka team argued the dismissal against the sports spirit.
