Dr. Jaishankar waiting the world to Say Thankyou to India – Know why

In a conversation hosted by the High Commission of India in London, External Affairs Minister of India Dr. Jaishankar said “So we’ve actually softened the oil markets and the gas markets through our purchase policies. We have, as a consequence, actually managed global inflation. I’m waiting for the Thank You”.

The world inflation saw decline in the recently published reports from the USA and the Europe and world is taking a sigh of relief. Covid, then Russia Ukraine war and then the Israel Hamas conflict impacted the world economy.

Dr. Jaishankar explained how India’s approach to oil purchases from Russia and distribution management, prevented a surge in global oil prices. This prevented potential competition with Europe in the market as India and Europe would have gone to the same supplier. Getting oil from other sources helped reduce competition, thus prevented surge in prices.
