India Proposes EV import taxes cut in UK Free Trade Deal

India is proposing a tax reduction on imports on some electric vehicles from the UK

A Concessional tariff of 30 percent is being considered annually over 2500 EVs.

Currently the import duty tax levied by India is between 70-100 percent. 70% upto $40,000, and 100% above $40,000

These curbs are being considered for fully built cars if the maker manufacture it in India.

The free trade deal is expected to double the bilateral trade by 2030.
