Bengal Govt Told To Pay Rs 766 Crore as compensation to Tata Motors for their investment in Singur plant.

Tata Motors had to shift its plant from Singur in West Bengal to Sanand in Gujarat in 2008 after stiff resistance by the Trinamool Congress.

This move delayed the commercial launch of Nano by approximately 5 months.
