The Stock market closed on the decline: BSE Sensex weakened by 187 points and Nifty by 33 points, banking shares pulled the market down.

On Friday, the last trading day of the week, the Mumbai Stock Exchange’s Sensex and National Stock Exchange’s Nifty closed on weakness. Sensex of the Mumbai Stock Exchange closed at the level of 65794 points with a weakness of 187 points while Nifty of the National Stock Exchange closed at the level of 19731 points with a weakness of 33 points. On Friday, Nifty Midcap 100 registered a slight rise of 0.15 percent while BSE Small Cap registered a rise of 0.36%. Weakness was recorded in Nifty IT and Nifty Bank indices.

The top gainers of the stock market included shares of SBI Life, HDFC Life, Apollo Hospital, and Larsen & Toubro, while the top losers included shares of SBI, Axis Bank, ONGC, and BPCL.
