PM Modi Statement on Deepfake
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed deep concern about the increasing cases of deepfakes. He has spoken openly about the misuse of Artificial Intelligence to create ‘deepfakes’. The Prime Minister said that the media should educate people about this crisis. Deepfake videos are synthetic media in which a person in an existing image or video is replaced with someone else’s image.

Deepfakes are a misuse of AI
A few days ago, when Rashmika Mandanna’s deepfake video went viral, everyone was shocked. After this, fake photos of Katrina Kaif from Tiger-3 and now Sara Tendulkar-Shubman Gill’s photo were morphed and made viral. Deepfakes have been used in the past too, but after the advent of AI, such cases have increased.
