Thick Haze on Delhi, Air Quality worsened

The AQI tipped into severe category for the first time this season.

Average Air Quality Index of 464 (severe) recorded at 8 am on Friday.

Mundka and Bawana worst at 498 and 496 at 7.05 am.

The haze dropped visiblity to 600 metres at Safdarjung and 500 metres at Palam.

This also prompted school closures for Classes 5 and below on Friday and Saturday.

The Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) effected Stage 3 of  Graded Response Action plan for the city.

The restrictions includes ban on private constructions and demolitions.
