Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday gave the mantra of Vocal for Local in the 106th episode of the radio program Mann Ki Baat. The Prime Minister said- The festival of Diwali is coming in a few days. I appeal to my countrymen to buy only Made in India goods. PM Modi said that this time on festivals, we should buy such products which have the smell of the sweat of the countrymen and the talent of the youth of the country. This will provide employment to the countrymen. India is becoming a big manufacturing hub today and many big brands are manufacturing their products in India. If we adopt those products then it will promote Make in India. Also, while purchasing goods, make payment through UPI digital payment system only.
Record breaking sales of Khadi
PM Modi said in the Mann Ki Baat program that there was a record sale of Khadi in Delhi on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti. Goods worth more than Rs 1.5 crore were sold in a single day from the Khadi store of Connaught Place. Khadi Mahotsav has also broken all its previous sales records. Increasing sales of Khadi means that its benefits are reaching from cities to villages. Our weavers, handicraft artisans and farmers are all getting benefits from this. This is the strength of the Vocal for Local campaign. The Prime Minister appealed to buy only indigenous goods during festivals so that all the countrymen can benefit from it.
Pay through UPI
The Prime Minister said that Vocal for Local should not be limited to festivals only. This feeling should not be limited to Diwali only. And don’t buy lamps on Diwali just for social media. While purchasing such products, please pay through UPI only. While making such purchases, take a selfie and share it on namo app, that too from a Made in India phone.
